The New Patriotic Party (NPP), the ruling political party, has made it unequivocally clear that it neither sanctioned nor authorized the intrusion of UTV studios by certain individuals who claimed to be affiliated with the party. These individuals disrupted a live television show in protest against remarks made by one of the panelists during the broadcast.

The swift action of the police resulted in the arrest of 16 individuals who were allegedly involved in this incident. Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the NPP, asserted in an interview with Citi News that the party is committed to collaborating with law enforcement agencies to ensure that those responsible for the disruption are held accountable for their actions.

“The party did not sanction anyone to go and disrupt the United Showbiz programme as was reported. We have moved swiftly to make an apology to them [UTV], and we are going to cooperate with the police to investigate the matter. We think that the attack is unacceptable, and it’s condemnable,” he said.
