Since August 1, employees from all 46 Training Colleges have been striking over the government's alleged disregard for the National Labour Commission's arbitral award orders and the terms of the collective bargaining agreement that have been in place since May 2.

The purpose of today's meeting is to determine a course of action because the Teachers insist they will not give up until their issues are resolved.

The president of CETAG, Prince Obeng-Hima, stated in an interview with Starr News that he is optimistic about the meeting's outcome.

“We are waiting to hear what will happen on Wednesday. We are going into that meeting full of confidence on Wednesday. We expect fairness, rule of law. We will look at the National Labour Commission exercising its powers by going to the Superior Courts to compel the government to comply with the directive that the NLC on its own volition came out with on the 2nd of May 2023.”
