1 min readResidents of Ningo-Prampram can expect improved water supply starting Tuesday March 18, following an assurance from the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL).

In a Facebook post on Sunday, March 16, the constituency’s Member of Parliament (MP) and Minister for Communications, Digitalisation, and Innovation, Samuel Nartey George described the water shortage as “extremely critical” and said efforts were being made to ease the situation.

“Yesterday, I got firm assurances from the new Managing Director (MD) for the Ghana Water Company Limited that from coming Tuesday, we should see some improvement in water supply all the way to the end of the week,” he stated.

The MP, secured this assurance after engaging with the company’s new Managing Director, Adam Mutawakilu over the weekend.

To find a permanent solution, Mr. George mentioned that the GWCL boss would personally visit the constituency this week to evaluate the situation.

While pushing for long-term interventions, the MP said he would continue to support residents through water tanker deliveries to help mitigate the crisis.

He also expressed appreciation to the Greater Accra Regional Minister for assisting in efforts to restore stable water supply.
