Neymar looked sharp during Al-Hilal's agility drills as he began training on grass, intensifying his recovery from ACL surgery.
Initially expected to dazzle audiences in Riyadh, Neymar's journey hit a major roadblock in October 2023 when he sustained a severe ACL injury during a World Cup qualifying match for Brazil.
The injury required surgery, sidelining him for the rest of the season and causing him to miss Al-Hilal's title victory.
Now, Neymar is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel as he works diligently towards full fitness. Recently filmed training on grass, he performed agility drills and sprints with noticeable ease.
With guidance from a personal trainer, his sessions indicate significant progress in his rehabilitation process, suggesting he could soon join his teammates in group training.
As Neymar approaches the end of his recovery, expectations are high for his return to the pitch.
Flamengo president Rodolfo Landim revealed that Neymar is expected to be match-ready by mid-September.
Having made just five appearances for Al-Hilal since his move from Paris Saint-Germain, Neymar will miss the start of the 2024-25 Saudi Pro League season.
However, he is anticipated to be a game-changer as Al-Hilal aims to fend off competition from Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr and retain the league championship.
