In a statement released on Monday, December 8, 2024, the party expressed regret over these actions, labeling them as unlawful and harmful to national stability.The NDC explained that some of these acts were committed by overly exuberant party supporters, caught up in the fervor of the party's sweeping victory in the recently concluded Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

"Some of these acts of vandalism and looting of state properties are reported to have been carried out by disgruntled supporters of the New Patriotic Party who believe that their party's Parliamentary Candidates hoarded state-procured food items, fertilizer, and other materials which were meant to be distributed before the December 7 elections, as part of the NPP’s voter inducement strategy."
