After enjoying his holidays in Lagos, Victor Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker, has returned to Napoli, where he was warmly welcomed by the home fans on Tuesday evening, July 18.

During the previous Italian league season, Osimhen left an indelible mark, scoring 26 goals and securing the Serie A golden boot, contributing significantly to Napoli's Scudetto victory after 33 years.

His exceptional performances have endeared him to the fans and also attracted interest from top clubs across Europe's major leagues, with Chelsea, Manchester United, and Paris Saint-Germain reportedly among those eyeing the Nigerian star as a potential transfer target.

As evident in a video circulating on Twitter and reported by Soccernet, Osimhen's return to Napoli was met with an enthusiastic and rapturous welcome from the fans at the home ground.

Despite the ongoing speculation surrounding his future at the club, the warm reception from the Napoli fans showcased their admiration and appreciation for the striker's talents, leaving Osimhen visibly delighted by the overwhelming show of support.

Napoli set for preseason friendlies

Meanwhile, Napoli have lined up friendlies against SPAL, Frosinone Calcio, and Anaune Val di Non this summer, and Osimhen is expected to be a key feature.

The Italian club's new head coach, Rudi Garcia, has also made it clear that he wants the Nigerian striker to be part of his team for the coming season.

Lerry wants Osimhen in England

Earlier, Sports Brief had reported on the close friend of the Napoli star, Asiwaju Lerry, urging Osimhen to join the EPL amid continued speculation over his club football future.

However, the social media influencer recently slammed Man United for allowing veteran goalkeeper, David De Gea, to leave Old Trafford and told his friend to avoid the Red Devils.

The Spanish keeper's contract expired at the end of the 2023/23 season and he left United as a free agent, with United reportedly searching for a new force between the sticks.
