Presidential aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Afriyie Akoto, believes that he is winning the flagbearership race.
According to Dr Akoto, he is optimistic due to the intelligence he has received from his agents at the over 300 polling stations.
"It is rather the information I am getting from my agents across the centres is a good indication that victory is coming to us," he said.
Before the former Agriculture Minister had the opportunity to conclude his submission, laughter was heard in the background.
Voting ended at 2 p.m., and counting is presently taking place. In some areas, counting has come to an end, and some provisional results have been provided.
So far, the flagbearer contest is between Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong.
Dr Afriyie Akoto and Francis Addai-Nimoh have struggled to obtain a significant number of votes.
