First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Lordina Mahama, has extended her wishes to all women in the country in celebration of Mother's Day.

In a statement released on May 11 by the Office of the First Lady, Lordina Mahama emphasized the role women, particularly mothers play in the nation.“My dear mothers and remarkable women of Ghana, on this beautiful occasion of Mother’s Day, my heart is filled with profound gratitude and admiration for each of you.

“We are the pillars of our homes and the heartbeat of our nation. Mothers nurture the future. Our nurturing hands, wise counsel, and unconditional assistance foster strong families and communities, laying the groundwork for a compassionate society,” she said.According to her, mothers strive to build better lives for themselves and families despite daily challenges.The First Lady reaffirmed her commitment to supporting vulnerable women through skills training, economic empowerment, and advocacy, while also extending vital assistance to children and individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
