1 min readThe Chief of Nyinahini, Nana Amanpene Boateng Twum II, has demanded the arrest and prosecution of the military officers involved in the death of a local youth.

He emphasized that those accused of the offense should be held accountable under the law.

During a meeting with Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe, and Member of Parliament for Atwima Mponua, Seth Osei Akoto, the traditional leader questioned the need for such violent action.

"Why should someone be shot just for wearing army camouflage? He even said he would strip off the trousers and go naked, yet they shot him. They must be arrested and face justice," he stated.

His call followed the alleged shooting of 37-year-old Kwame Lala, who was killed for wearing military camouflage. In the same incident, four other individuals sustained injuries during a confrontation between the military and the youth of Nyinahini.

DCOP Emmanuel Teye Cudjoe assured the public that an investigation had been initiated and those responsible would not escape punishment.

"The investigation process is already underway, and the offenders will be brought to justice," he assured the community.

The Police Commander also urged the youth to remain calm while the police work to identify and apprehend those involved in the crime.

Meanwhile, the family of the deceased is demanding justice for Kwame Lala, who leaves behind a wife and eight children.

Two of the injured individuals have been discharged from the hospital and are recovering from their injuries.
