Opanin Boakye Dankwa of Kantinkyiren is the father of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who recently marked his 25th anniversary on the throne.
A post by an X page to highlight the works of the Asanteman, @Ahsanti_Kingdom, revealed that whenever the Asantehene is about to speak, there is an appellation that is recited before. And this appellation is to honour his father and mother.
In the appellation, you will hear a verse that says, “Hwan na bɛnya sɛ Kantinkyiren Boakye Dankwa ne Serwaa Ampem Sikapɔ ba ne wo”.
Recently, the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, hosted a grand durbar to honor the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The event showcased a variety of cultural performances, celebrating the historic visit of the Asantehene to the Ga state.
During his speech at the Ga Mantse Palace, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II announced a donation of five hundred thousand Ghana cedis to an education fund supporting underprivileged children in the Ga community.
He highlighted that his visit aimed to foster unity between the Ga and Asante people and to dispel the notion of rivalry between the two tribes.
Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Asantehene for his generous support.
He also urged the public to uphold peace and harmony before, during, and after the upcoming elections.
