Ghanaian rapper, Samuel Adu Frimpong, widely recognized as Medikal, has boldly predicted that his fellow musician, Black Sherif, is destined to win a Grammy Award due to his exceptional achievements in the creative arts industry.
Medikal highlighted that Black Sherif's remarkable accomplishments at such a young age are strong indicators that he will achieve even greater things for Ghana and elevate the nation's status on the global stage with his musical talents.
This assertion came after Black Sherif received the Best International Flow award at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards. Medikal shared his thoughts on Twitter, emphasizing Black Sherif's promising future in the music industry.
“Blacko and Asakaa go win Grammy!” he wrote.
Background
Ghanaian music sensation, Black Sherif, achieved a significant milestone by winning the prestigious Best International Flow category award at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards.
Despite facing stiff competition from international heavyweights like AKA from South Africa, Central Cee from the UK, and other renowned artists from around the world, Black Sherif secured the victory, cementing his status as a rising star on the global music scene.
This marked the second time he had received a nomination in this category, having previously been nominated in 2022 but losing to Benjamin EPPS.
Black Sherif follows in the footsteps of Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, who won the same category in 2019. The BET Hip Hop Awards featured electrifying performances by acclaimed artists, including Jermaine Dupri, Da Brat, Bow Wow, and Ludacris, among others.
