Ghanaian entertainment pundit MC Yaa Yeboah has questioned how Nigerian actress and movie producer Bimbo Ademoye could accuse Ghanaian TV stations of piracy without providing any evidence.
During a discussion on United Showbiz on April 27, 2025, MC Yaa Yeboah criticized Bimbo for making serious allegations on social media without backing her claims with proof. She described Bimbo’s approach as irresponsible, noting that piracy is a longstanding issue in Ghana’s movie industry and should have been addressed through the proper channels.
“Piracy in the movie industry has been an old thing happening in our country. This is not the first time such a thing has happened. How could she come on social media to say all these things without even sharing evidence? Then we have a minister running to acknowledge what she is saying,” Yeboah said.
She also defended figures such as Kafui Danku and MP Sam George, who were dragged into the controversy following Bimbo’s comments. According to her, Bimbo could have easily reached out directly to those involved instead of attacking the country publicly.
"Kafui Danku is in the movie industry and to get access to her is not difficult. They could have come to you directly and tell you their problem. Her response on social media to me was absolutely unnecessary," she added.
MC Yaa Yeboah stressed that venting grievances online would not yield any meaningful results. She questioned Bimbo’s decision to suggest taking the issue to the President, describing it as unrealistic.
"There is a system of doing these things and she knows the right channel to go through... Believe me, she knows she is not going to get any positive answers. Who is she to say that she would be taking the issue to the president himself? She has no right to sit on social media and call Ghana out like Ghana is a small country. Should the president leave more pressing issues and attend to her issue?" she quizzed.
Her remarks have added to the ongoing conversation about how piracy concerns should be properly handled within the entertainment industries of Ghana and Nigeria.
