Energy Minister and MP for Manhyia South, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, has assured full support to Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia from Manhyia South delegates in upcoming New Patriotic Party (NPP) elections.

Dr. Prempeh highlights Bawumia's sterling qualities, experience, loyalty, and sacrifices for the party, making him the best candidate for the 2024 elections.

The Energy Minister emphasizes Bawumia's ability to unite all sections of Ghanaian society and religious backgrounds, crucial for the party's quest to secure a 3rd term electoral victory known as 'breaking the 8' in NPP terms.

“The Vice President has served well as Vice President, defending the programmes and policies of our government and remains the only existential threat to the electoral fortunes of John Mahama and the NDC, of all the candidates vying for the flagbearership slot” he said.

Dr. Prempeh adds that, with the endorsement of Otumfuo Asantehene, who considers Dr. Bawumia his son, he sees Bawumia as his own father and therefore pledges unwavering support for him in the competition.

As the Vice President visits the Ashanti Region, the stronghold of the NPP, for the next 11 days, he will engage with delegates in the 47 constituencies, articulating why they should select him over the other 9 contenders in the party's flagbearer race.
