The lifeless body of a 27-year-old man, Emmanuel Mensah, has been retrieved from an abandoned quarry pit at Mpintsin Kojokrom.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), it received a distress call on Saturday, October 14, reporting a drowning incident at Mpintsin near SDA Church in the Western Region.
Upon arrival, the crew, with the assistance of a diver after scene assessment, discovered the deceased, who passed away on October 13, in the company of his friends.
According to the GNFS, investigation is underway to uncover the circumstances leading to the death of Emmanuel Mensah.
