Seretse Khama Ian Khama, the 2024 ceremony marked the second edition of the awards, with the first held in Kigali, Rwanda in 2024. In his recognition as an Exemplary African Leader, Mr. Mahama, currently leading the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ghana's 2024 elections, was praised for implementing strategic economic initiatives and massive infrastructure projects across critical sectors.

His efforts aimed to address economic challenges and improve livelihoods, including initiatives to alleviate power shortages and boost job creation through agricultural expansion.During his tenure, Mahama's administration prioritized strategic economic initiatives and implemented large-scale infrastructure projects in transportation, healthcare, education, power, and housing, enhancing the quality of life for Ghanaians.

Other award recipients at the ceremony included the African Rising Movement, recognised for Social Justice and Advocacy, and Dr Jayne Obioma Onwumere, CEO of the Property World Africa Network, recognised for her work in Women’s Emancipation and Empowerment.
