On Thursday, Uruguayan striker Luis Suárez declared that Inter Miami will mark the final club of his career.
The 37-year-old joined the MLS side for the 2024 season following his tenure with Brazilian club Gremio.
Suárez's move to Inter Miami reunited him with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba, with whom he celebrated four LaLiga titles during their time in Spain.
"Inter Miami will be my last club; my family already knows that. I don't have a date yet, but it's the last step," Suárez said in an interview with Uruguayan radio station Del Sol.
"I'm ready for this last challenge, but there is an inevitable fatigue and, in the end, I want to have quality of life in the future," he added.
Having previously represented clubs such as Ajax Amsterdam, Liverpool, and Atlético Madrid, Suárez boasts an impressive career spanning multiple prestigious teams. Since 2007, he has earned 138 caps for Uruguay.
Inter Miami, scheduled to face Newell's Old Boys in its last preseason fixture on Thursday, will commence its MLS campaign against Real Salt Lake on Feb. 21.
