Scotland Yard, the police force in London, has reported a significant increase in hate crimes, especially those targeting Jews, since the acts of violence by Hamas against Israel. From October 1 to 18, there were 218 incidents of anti-Semitism in London. This is higher than the 15 incidents that occurred during the same time last year. The amount of hate crimes against Muslims went up to 101 this year, increasing from 42 incidents the previous year. The numbers were made public right before a big protest in London supporting Palestine. The police have said that people are not allowed to gather and protest outside the Israeli embassy. The police have been informed about hate crimes happening in person and on the internet. These crimes were motivated by both race and religion. Up until now, the police have arrested 21 people and have been going through 1,400 reports of things that might be against the law on the internet.
