United States-based Ghanaian Lawyer, Professor Stephen Kwaku Azar, has expressed concern over some items the Bank of Ghana spent money on.
In its 2022 Annual Report & Financial Statements, the Bank of Ghana noted that it expended GHS131,586 million on motor vehicle maintenance/running.
According to Prof Azar in a Facebook post, the Central Bank Directors must answer for spending such a colossal amount on such an initiative.

“¢131M spent on running/maintain motor vehicles. Thant can buy 130 cars at $100k each. BoG has a case to answer,” he wrote.
The professor has also demanded enquiry into the spending of GHS1.6 billion as personnel cost for 2,215 staff.
