In a video making rounds, K T Hammond alleged that Mr Binfoh employed the service of some thugs who attacked his supporters.

As a result, the incumbent MP for Adansi Asokwa, ignited controversy by issuing threats of physical harm to his contender, Sammy Binfoh.In a video shared on X by Joy News on Saturday, January 27, Hammond accused Binfoh of allegedly hiring thugs to attack his supporters and create chaos in the constituency.

Hammond's response was nothing short of alarming, as he declared his intent to beat Binfoh in the polls and organize thugs to physically assault him.“I am going to ensure that he is mercilessly beaten to pop. I will humiliate him at the polls and get him beaten. I am not going to organize disturbances; I am just putting it on notice.

I will not disorganize anything here, but get him wherever he is and tell him to leave town immediately,” stated the legislator.Hammond went on to recount a recent incident where he claimed body-built men assaulted some of his followers, leading to a confrontation that ended with macho guys coming to his house to plead for peace.

Despite this, Hammond asserted his determination to give Binfoh "two types of showdown" – a beating and public humiliation, coupled with organizing physical violence against him.This revelation comes amidst the ongoing NPP parliamentary primaries held on Saturday, January 27, 2024, to select candidates for the upcoming 2024 general elections.

The primaries are taking place in all 275 constituencies across the country, excluding those where the party has no sitting MPs or where it lost in the 2020 elections.The inflammatory statements made by the incumbent MP have raised serious concerns about the potential for violence within the party during the primaries, prompting calls for intervention and investigation into the matter.
