2 mins readFormer Member of Parliament for Dadekotopon, Nii Amasah Namoale, has accused former presidential aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong, of being a weakling.
0
According to him, if Mr Agyapong was true to his words that Ghanaians have not been better off under the Akufo-Addo-led government, he would have joined the many protestors demanding accountability and better economic conditions.
1
On October 2, 2023, Ken Agyapong was reported to have accused the NPP of corruption and looting public funds. He indicated that the extent of this alleged looting was deeply concerning and claimed that these stolen funds were being stashed abroad.
2
However, Agyapong later clarified that his comments were taken out of context. He explained that the video containing his remarks had been edited to create a misleading impression.
3
But Mr Agyapong has failed to do so, and for this, he has been termed a coward by Mr Namoale during an interview on Angel FM.
4
"I know Kennedy to be a coward. He shows a brave face, but he is a coward. If you say Ghana first, I'm expecting to see Ken Agyapong marshal people but he is a coward and he is self-centered."
5
He also accused Kennedy Agyapong of putting his needs above those of Ghanaians in his quest to become the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer.
6
He said: "When they were voting, I nearly wrote on my Facebook wall that nobody should expect Kennedy Agyapong to lead the party. Ken Agyapong will never lead the party because he knew it is only in the NPP that he can get contracts.
7
"Ken Agyapong is not coming to fight for the ordinary Ghanaian, he is fighting for his business. He is going to fight for his business."
8
Mr Namoale is not the only individual who shares this assertion.
9
Media personality Kevin Taylor believes the same and further asks why Mr Agyapong is still a member of the Board of Ghana Gas despite his corruption claims against his government.
10
"If Kennedy tells you NPP members are thieves, who are the thieves? He is a first class criminal, because as we speak today, he is still serving a criminal. Kennedy Agyapong is serving Bawumia, he is serving Akufo-Addo, he is serving NPP as the board chair of Ghana Gas," he said.
11
Also, a member of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia's campaign team, Frederick Opare-Ansah, has accused former presidential aspirant for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kennedy Agyapong, of being a coward.
12
Frederick Opare-Ansah noted that, just like a barking dog never bites, Mr Agyapong has never been able to come face-to-face with individuals he has threatened or accused.
