The Football Association has imposed a one-game ban on Chelsea captain Reece James for his confrontation with referee Jarred Gillett and the use of inappropriate language directed at him in the tunnel after Chelsea's 1-0 loss to Aston Villa on September 24.
Additionally, he has been fined £90,000 for breaching FA Rule E3.
"The defender admitted that he used improper, insulting and abusive words and behaviour towards a match official in the tunnel after the final whistle," a statement read.

The incident unfolded when Reece James, who was sidelined for the match, engaged in a heated exchange with referee Jarred Gillett in the tunnel at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea's dissatisfaction with Gillett stemmed from a VAR review that led to Malo Gusto's dismissal for a challenge on Lucas Digne, while the score remained level at 0-0 early in the second half.
Furthermore, Chelsea had been displeased with Gillett earlier in the game when he allowed only two of the designated three minutes of stoppage time at the conclusion of the first half.
