1 min readThe suspended Assin Central Parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Nurein Shaibu Mygyimah, has stated that he has not received any formal notification of his suspension.Speaking on Asempa FM's Ekosii Sen programme on Friday, Mr. Mygyimah indicated that he became aware of his suspension through a letter circulating on social media and a WhatsApp message from the Regional Secretary.

Mygyimah as its parliamentary candidate less than six months before the December 7 election, citing allegations of immoral acts and anti-party activities in their statement.However, Mr. Mygyimah denied these accusations, with his lawyer suggesting that the suspension was driven by personal grievances involving the Regional Chairman, Professor Kofi Asiedu, and the Regional Secretary.

In response, the aggrieved party issued a three-day ultimatum demanding the reversal of the decision to allow Mr. Mygyimah to resume his campaign for the NDC's seat. They threatened legal action if the ultimatum passed without resolution.Furthermore, the NDC National Secretariat, surprised by the Regional Secretariat's actions, summoned Prof. Asiedu and the Secretary to appear before the Functional Executive Council (FEC) on Tuesday, July 2.
