Award-winning Nigerian singer Davido has stirred an emotional response from fans after revealing that one of his newborn twins bears a striking resemblance to his late son, Ifeanyi, who tragically passed away in 2022.
In a recent interview with Apple Music’s Ebro Darden, the Afrobeats star opened up about the pain of losing his first child with wife Chioma, and how the birth of their twins in October 2023 has brought a deep sense of healing.
“The boy looks just like my son that passed. It is scary. It’s like literally him,” Davido said, his voice filled with emotion. “We’re like, ‘No, it’s him. He came back.’”
The singer's powerful words have resonated deeply with fans, many of whom took to social media to express support and admiration for his strength.
The tragic loss of Ifeanyi marked a dark period in Davido’s life, leading him to take a break from music and public appearances. But with the arrival of his twins, the singer says he feels renewed—more grounded, grateful, and driven.
“To come back from that and be blessed with twins… it just shows God is real,” he added. “It made me more humble, more compassionate.”
Davido’s openness about grief and spiritual restoration has not only offered fans a glimpse into his personal journey but also highlighted the enduring love he holds for the son he lost.
While the world celebrates his musical milestones, for Davido, the most profound joy has come from family—and the belief that, somehow, Ifeanyi lives on through his little brother.
