Celebrated actor Pete Edochie, who recently turned 77, delivered a powerful message emphasizing the significance of women in society.Edochie asserts that a man's ability to manage and understand women qualifies him for leadership, even suggesting that such a man could effectively govern a country. He highlighted the essential role women play in transforming a mere house into a nurturing home, emphasising their strength lies within their words.Edochie condemned violence against women, asserting that any man who resorts to physical aggression lacks the qualities of true manhood.“My 77th birthday coincided with the celebration of the International Women’s Day. So I want to use this opportunity to congratulate our women. A house is a house but converted to a home only when a woman gets into it. The strength of a woman is in her tongue.“If a woman provokes you and you strike her, you do not qualify to be called a man. But if you can cope with a woman, you can run a local government, you can run a country. I want to tell you that.
“So congratulations to all the women. Keep it up. You make us proud. You take care of our children,” Pete Edochie stated. With a career spanning nearly four decades and appearances in over 200 films, including classics like 'Things Fall Apart' and 'Living with Death', Edochie's words carry weight within and beyond the Nigerian film industry.
