Thank you for your belief in me – I will not let you down," Awuku wrote in a post on X.The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA) and former National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) secured a commanding 28,365 votes, defeating his closest contender, John Evans Kumordzi of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), who garnered 14,217 votes.

Awuku’s victory comes during a challenging election season for the governing NPP, making his win particularly significant. It positions him as one of the few NPP parliamentary candidates to triumph despite widespread electoral losses for the party.With a strong background in politics, Awuku has been a prominent figure within the NPP.

His political journey began during his time at the University of Ghana, where he was deeply involved in student leadership and contested for the presidency of the Student Representative Council.
