1 min readA New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegate for Sekondi, Rauf Mohammed, has indicated that he cast his ballot during the party's primaries for a candidate who has brought development irrespective of the funds received from delegates.

Egyapa Mercer, the incumbent legislator is going up against Benjamin Kwasi Moses.

According to Rauf Mohammed, he received some cash from both candidates to cover the cost of transportation.

He noted that he received GHC50 from the Mr Mercer and GHC300 from Mr Kwasi Moses. However, Rauf, indicated that he cast his ballot for development, hence Mr Egyapa is winning the contest.

"We the delegates voted based on development. Our sitting MP gave us GHC50 as our T&T. I am not voting based on money given me but the development. The other contestant thought it was a money laundering programme so he gave us GH300. I and some of the delegates, Egyapa is winning because he gave us GHC50. The people love Egyapa, so they didn't think about the money," the delegate said.

Meanwhile, the results for the Sekondi Parliamentary Primaries is yet to be declared.
