In a passionate Facebook post on Friday, 25th April, Basintale condemned the current terms of employment, calling them exploitative and unjust to the young people of Ghana.

His remarks come amid rising public criticism, particularly from investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni, who has long advocated against renewing the contract due to concerns over the mistreatment of workers and alleged violations of contract terms.

In his post, Basintale strongly denounced the current arrangement, labeling it a "rip-off" of vulnerable Ghanaians and vowed that it would not continue under his watch.

"All my life, I have fought for integrity and for the better placement of the youth and people of Ghana," he emphasized.

"I promise on my honour as I stand by the grave of my late DAD, NOT to RENEW the contract in its CURRENT STATE or FORM. It is EVIL for the previous government to have committed to this and I SHALL STOP IT," Basintale declared, further pledging to secure fair compensation for the sanitation workers under President Mahama's leadership.

Basintale also expressed his personal dismay over the low wages, sharing, “If my mother, brother, or sister were a Zoomlion worker, I wouldn’t be happy with any of them taking GH¢250 as salary.”
6
To discuss the matter further, Basintale invited the public to join him for a live Facebook session at 8 pm, where he planned to share his views and engage in a dialogue on how best to address the issue of the controversial contract.
