In a candid conversation with FiiFi Pratt, Guru disclosed that his former manager had violated a contract with Vodafone, prompting repercussions for the artist.Vodafone had acquired the rights to Guru's hit song "Lapaz Toyota," but his manager illicitly sold the same song to MTN, constituting a breach of their agreement with Vodafone.

This breach resulted in Vodafone using Guru as a scapegoat, presenting him with a choice between performing free shows or facing legal consequences.Aware of the potential damage to his career from legal action, Guru opted to perform free shows for Vodafone instead.
