In a recent revelation, Ghanaian musician Article Wan, the acclaimed 'Solo' (HmmNyeNye) hitmaker in the Afro Dancehall genre, expressed his readiness to sign with a record label that presents a compelling offer.
Despite not currently being affiliated with any record label, Article Wan acknowledged the significant impact of such associations on an artist's career, emphasising that it enhances the quality of the music and provides greater visibility.
Drawing inspiration from successful artists like Black Sherif, Article Wan remains optimistic that aligning himself with a record label would propel his career to new heights.
During an appearance on TV3's New Day, Article Wan asserted, “I am open to working with any reputable business entity; we are very open and can collaborate effectively. When you observe how we started and compare it to the trajectory of artists like Black Sherif, you can see a clear difference."
Highlighting the importance of teamwork, he said, "Proper teamwork is being done; it does not mean we are not working hard, but when we have that chance, we can elevate things further."
When questioned about his preferred record label, Article Wan mentioned, "If we have a deal with Empire, it won't be bad."
Currently, the artist is actively promoting his latest single, 'Yeye,' released in December and available on all major streaming platforms.
Addressing his hiatus from the music scene during an interview on Joy Prime earlier this month, Article Wan explained, "At a certain point in my life, I decided to step back and rebrand Article Wan because there is a lot of potential in the music industry. I've travelled, heard, and seen different things. It's just a matter of time."
He concluded, "I am not done yet, and I won't fade away now. I just need to sit back, work diligently, put more effort into my craft and creativity, and come back stronger."
