The Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has vowed to challenge the parliamentary election results in court, insisting he is the rightful winner.His declaration comes after the Electoral Commission (EC) announced Abdulai Abu Baba Abubakar Sadiq of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) as the winner of the highly contested seat.

Baba Sadiq secured 15,383 votes, narrowly edging out Boamah, who polled 14,949 votes.Addressing the media shortly after the results were declared on Monday, December 9, Boamah expressed dissatisfaction with the outcome, citing irregularities during the collation process and discrepancies in polling station results.“I know I have won the election. There is no need for violent means to reclaim my seat.

We are consulting with our legal team and gathering the necessary documentation to proceed,” Boamah stated, expressing confidence in the judiciary to ensure fairness.The Okaikwei Central contest was one of the most hotly contested in the 2024 general elections, with tensions running high during the collation process. There have been allegations of discrepancies in pink sheets and disputes over results.
