João Félix has admitted that he struggled to acclimatise to Atletico Madrid and Diego Simeone's tactics despite his sensational beginning with Barcelona.
Félix, aged 23, has already netted three goals in his initial two starts for Barcelona since his recent loan move from Atletico earlier this month.
The Portuguese forward initially joined Atletico from Benfica for a substantial €126 million ($134 million) fee in 2019, but during his four seasons under coach Simeone, he failed to fully meet the high expectations set for him.
"When things are going badly in football for someone, you have to make a change," Félix said in an interview with Mundo Deportivo on Thursday.

"I did it before going to Chelsea [on loan in the second half of last season] and now coming to Barcelona because it was not going well [at Atletico].
"I didn't adapt to the club's or the coach's ideas, but I always tried to do the best I could. I have had good times there as well."
