Renowned gospel artist, Philipa Baafi recently shared her incredible journey of overcoming obstacles to achieve academic success amidst personal tragedy.Losing her parents early in life, she faced challenges but remained resolute in her studies.Despite adversity, she excelled in Senior High School but couldn't pursue further education at the time.However, her passion for medicine persisted.
With determination and divine grace, Philipa returned to education later in life, earning a first-class honour in Physician Assistant studies despite being over 40.“I lost my parents while I was in primary school. My mother also died when I got to SHS. Even though I was a brilliant student, it was tough for me. Aside my calling to do music, I had the passion to become a medical professional.
"After completing high school, I stayed home for a while because things were tough for me after my parents died. Going back to school after age 40 was not easy. But by the grace of God, I completed tertiary successfully with first class honours,” she said in a video shared by Zionfelix on his Instagram page.Her husband, Dr. Kwame Karikari, highlighted her hiatus from music as she focused on academia, ensuring she stayed relevant and fulfilled both passions.
Now back in the music scene, Philipa's resilience and talent shine through, marking a triumphant return for this beloved artist.
What Philipa Baafi’s husband said about her long absence in the music industry
Dr. Kwame Karikari, the husband of gospel artiste Philipa Baafi, explained why his wife has not been active in the music industry for quite some time now.
According to him, the gospel artiste had to put her music career on hold to go back to school and upgrade her educational credentials in order not to lose her relevance.
He disclosed that she went to school for four years to study to be a physician assistant.
He announced that his wife, Philipa Baafi, has officially made a comeback to music after the long break.
“Upon completion [of school], she worked on some songs but we were waiting for the appropriate time to make it known, and this is the right moment," he said in the interview.
Philipa is a well-recognized musician in the country due to the numerous hit songs she has produced, including ‘Go Higher’, ‘I Go Dance’ and others.
