2 mins readThe road from Bogoso to Prestea has long been plagued by its deplorable condition, with numerous potholes and bumps that have gone unaddressed for many years, reflecting the neglect of successive governments.However, as elections draw near, the people of Prestea have grown weary of the government's disregard for their plight.Speaking to the media, residents of Prestea voiced their frustration regarding the poor state of their road networks.

They declared, "We demand that this road be repaired, or else they should not expect to bring a ballot box here for votes."One resident, Simon Mensah, emphasized, "We have been neglected for far too long. Despite the fact that various governments have claimed to have awarded the road to a contractor, we have yet to witness any substantial improvement on the road.

Every election year, politicians make promises, but these promises have never been fulfilled. They had better take action before the 2024 election."He continued, "During the 2020 elections, the NPP began asphalting the Prestea township just a few days before the elections. However, when the then MP, Lawyer Barbara Oteng Gyasi, lost, the work was halted, and we have been living in a dusty environment ever since.

"According to these residents, Asabea Construction Ltd. was the contractor responsible for the road until 2019 when the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Ofori Larbie, publicly insulted the chiefs, authorities, and people of Prestea on Adom FM after community members expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the work being conducted.Since then, no further work has been undertaken on the road, leaving it to deteriorate
