Afua Asantewaa, the young lady aiming to break the Guinness World Record for the longest singing marathon, has garnered increased support from various institutions and individuals.
A health facility has extended assistance to Afua Asantewaa in her record-breaking attempt. Serving as her official health partner throughout the four-day endeavor, the facility is committed to providing comprehensive health support for the aspiring world record holder.
The announcement, broadcasted live on Joy FM's Showbiz A-Z on December 9, was met with gratitude by Afua Asantewaa.
"I'm feeling goosebumps all over my skin. I'm really shocked. I must say I'm grateful to Sonotech for this," she said after the news was delivered.
In a show of support, Freeman Ame Daniel, a Ghanaian voice coach, has volunteered to provide vocal training for Afua Assantewaa as she embarks on her Guinness World Record attempt.
Renowned celebrities such as Shatta Wale, Afia Schwarzenegger, and Nana Ama McBrown have also expressed their encouragement for the record contender.
The four-day Guinness World Record attempt, hosted by Afua Asantewaa O. Aduonum, CEO of Askof Productions Limited, will take place at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra.
Afua aims to surpass the existing 2012 record set by Indian Sunil Waghmare, challenging herself to exceed the 105-hour mark.
During the 117-hour event, she plans to exclusively sing Ghanaian songs, spanning genres like gospel, highlife, and hiplife.
Afua drew inspiration from Hilda Baci's cook-a-thon, where a four-year-old cooking record set by Lata Tondon was successfully broken.
