The Ghana Audit Service has scheduled a head-count operation for all staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Akatsi South Municipality, taking place from Monday, September 4 to 8, 2023.
This headcount is part of a broader initiative by the Audit Service to audit the GES payroll, addressing discrepancies related to unaccounted-for staff.
In an official statement signed by Mr. Emmanuel Edziah, a Principal Auditor, GES staff, including teachers and headteachers, have been requested to participate in this crucial exercise.
During the headcount, staff are expected to provide essential documents such as their initial appointment letters, Ghana Card, payslip, biometric birth certificate, among others.
Both the Ghana Audit Service and the Controller and Accountant Generals Department (CAGD) have commenced a nationwide payroll and personal validation operation aimed at rectifying issues within the system, particularly addressing payroll discrepancies.
