Dr. Victor Bampoe, CEO of the NHIA, welcomed the development as a major step toward strengthening the scheme’s operations."The Finance Minister has been instructed by the President to release all outstanding allocations to the scheme within 30 days. This move is expected to stabilise funding and enable us to keep up with payments,” he explained.

According to Dr. Bampoe, the expansion is part of a broader push to improve access to vital health services, especially for those battling renal conditions under the National Health Insurance Scheme.
