Three passengers have tragically died on the spot, while 20 others are in critical condition following a devastating accident at Gomoa Okyereko Junction in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region. The accident occurred early Thursday morning and involved a VW Sprinter Benz Bus with registration number GW 5477-24 and a Hyundai Grace with registration GR 5899-22.

Eyewitness Kweku Atta, speaking with Adom News, explained that the Sprinter driver was heading toward Takoradi, while the Hyundai Grace was traveling from Winneba to Kasoa. The crash happened when the Sprinter driver made a wrongful overtake, colliding with the Hyundai Grace.The deceased include two male passengers and one female.

The 20 injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the Accident and Emergency Unit of the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital.In response to the tragedy, Winneba Municipal Fire Service Commander, D02 Fredrick Adu-Poku, has urged drivers to refrain from unnecessary overtaking, particularly with the Christmas festivities approaching.
