Rangers are actively seeking a replacement for former manager Michael Beale, who was dismissed over the weekend.

The club's board, led by CEO and chairman John Bennett, is in the process of identifying potential candidates.

One notable figure who was initially approached for the position was former Chelsea manager Graham Potter. However, it has been made clear that Potter has no intention of taking up the role in Scotland.

Another former Chelsea manager, Frank Lampard, is being considered and is reportedly open to discussions with the club regarding the managerial position.

Additionally, AZ Alkmaar's head coach, Pascal Jansen, is in contention for the role, although potential complications may arise due to the compensation package required for his services.

Among the candidates are two former Rangers players, Kevin Muscat and Derek McInnes.

Muscat, who currently coaches Yokohama F. Marinos in Japan, has minimal compensation concerns as his contract is set to expire in January.

McInnes, currently at Kilmarnock, also poses no major compensation hurdles, despite previously declining an opportunity to manage the club in 2017.
