2 mins readIt is not a hidden fact that Ghana was once been under military rule in precceding years ahead of the now 4th republic which was spear headed by the former President of the Country Jerry John Rawlings. In his time, Rawlings had risen to power and commanded such audacity and freight in many. To some, he had become the saviour of the country from messy hands and to others he was simply a dictator like many others.

However, one thing that stood central to his reign was the loyalty of some of his followers and people. They had so much confidence in him that there was nothing they couldn't do or sacrifice for his sake.

Years after his days in power many have appointed accusing fingers at his days in power, pointing to incessant killings, disaappearances of people one of such groups were the three judges who during the late hours of a night time curfew which was in force on 30 June 1982; Justice Kwadwo Agyei Agyepong, Fred Poku Sarkodee and Cecilia Koranteng-Addow together with a retired army officer Major Sam Acquah were all abducted from their homes never to

be seen again.However all these accusing fingers have remained such as nothing has ever been firmly established against the former president.

Former President Jerry John Rawlings speaking on the back of a recently aired documentary on the matter asserted that history has been “re-hashed†and “re-cooked†in order to make him together with other innocent persons look guilty as far as the murder of the three high court judges and an army major in 1982 is concerned.

However, Victor Smith having fond memories of the times reminisced how that not a single strand of hair on Rawlings' skin could a person dare touch else Ghana would burn. He emphasized how that he doesn't regret defending Rawlings in such statements. He explained how that Rawlings was an icon and there was at the time a plot being made to remove him from the equation. But he and some others were ready to fight and die for him.

For the reason that he had helped ensure stability in the nation through helping the enactment of the 1992 constitution. He explained how that two persons whose ames he will mention in the right time were scheming to do unto Rawlings the same Coup D'etat that had been staged in Cote D'ivoire at the time.<img class=""
