Frank Azila-Gbettor, the prosecutor, Atiga, who engaged in the rearing of sheep and goats, received several complaints from the community about his animals damaging crops.Despite warnings and advice from the Environmental Health and Sanitation Unit, Atiga allegedly continued to allow his animals to roam freely, causing disturbances in the community.

The issue escalated when the Municipal Environmental Health Unit instructed committee members to capture stray animals, leading to resistance from Atiga. Although previous incidents were resolved with promises not to repeat the offense, the nuisance persisted.On December 26, 2023, community members took action by depositing three stray sheep, caught on their farm, at the Fodome Helu police station.

Despite a request for pardon, Atiga failed to report to the Environmental Health Unit, resulting in his summons to the Hohoe Magistrate's Court.
