Raymond Archer has been named the Acting Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), according to reports.
His appointment comes after Abdulai Bashiru Dapilah ESQ, the former Acting Executive Director, was reassigned to the National Security Secretariat where he is expected to serve as a Technical Advisor.
Although government insiders have confirmed Mr. Dapilah’s reassignment to TV3, no official statement has been released explaining the reason behind the change.
Mr. Archer takes over at a time when EOCO maintains a central role in Ghana’s efforts to combat economic and organised crime.
His leadership is anticipated to inject a new sense of direction into the agency, especially amid ongoing discussions about transitions within the leadership of key national security institutions.
Before stepping into this role, Raymond Archer earned a strong reputation for his investigative journalism and his expertise in matters related to financial crime, making him a fitting choice to lead EOCO.
The government has yet to publicly explain the motive behind the recent leadership shift.
