The former president delivered this rallying message during a visit by a team of constituency organisers from Greater Accra, led by Prince Obeng, the party’s regional organiser.

He openly acknowledged the setback the party faced in the last general election, but made it clear that defeat does not mark the end. In his words, “Political parties win or lose elections. Yes, we have lost an election. But I know we can come back.”
2
His message was not one of despair but of optimism, pushing the party to shake off disappointment. As Obeng relayed, Akufo-Addo advised: “We should stop feeling sorry for ourselves. Let’s pick ourselves up, reorganise, and go forward as one.”
3
The former president also emphasized a renewed sense of purpose, saying, “We should behave like we believe we can win back the trust of the people for 2028.”
4
During their engagement, the delegation appealed for the former president’s backing on a constitutional review within the party, which aims to better define the role of constituency organisers.
5
The group also raised alarm about alleged efforts by elements within the current administration to influence the judiciary.
6
They warned that such interference, particularly the alleged plot to suspend or remove the Chief Justice, could threaten core constitutional protections, including limits on presidential terms.
7
Akufo-Addo did not comment directly on those claims but remained focused on the broader objective of party renewal and rebuilding.
8
His remarks left a strong impression on those present, with some describing his words as both moving and invigorating, at a time when the party is carefully plotting its next move.
