The Sound of Justice choir, made up of staff from the International Justice Mission (IJM), has released a new gospel album titled Echoes of Freedom to promote justice through faith-based music.
The album was officially launched during the Arise concert held at Agape House New Testament Church in East Legon, Accra, on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Echoes of Freedom features 10 songs, including Song of Freedom, The Justice Song, Occupy the Land, One Thing, and Rescue Song. Other tracks are Shout of Freedom, Broken Chains, I Am Enough, I’ll Fight, and Just One.
The launch was led by broadcaster Gifty Anti and IJM Ghana’s Country Director, Janet Budu. After unveiling the album, the Sound of Justice choir performed all 10 songs live.
Each track carries a strong message of hope, justice, and freedom, reflecting IJM’s mission to bring God’s justice and protection to people suffering from exploitation and violence.
The album was inspired by the Christian message of salvation and aims to bring healing and liberty to victims of child trafficking.
Gospel musician Eugene Zuta, who co-wrote the songs, shared how his work with IJM over the past five years transformed his perspective on freedom.
“My perception about freedom changed when I worked with IJM for five years,” he said.
Zuta explained that witnessing the harsh realities faced by trafficked children, especially those around Lake Volta, deeply affected him and shifted his focus in music towards themes of justice and freedom.
“There are not many songs on freedom and justice and what the bible says about the course of justice. All over the world, music is used as a tool for advocacy so this album is intended to soak the emotions and hearts of people in the fight for justice.
“Our God is a just God, who seeks freedom for everyone and with this album, we hope to trumpet the mission and vision of IJM to rescue victims of violence, child trafficking and restore survivors until they can thrive in freedom,” he stated.
