Danny Welbeck's late header secured a 1-1 draw for Brighton against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. Jordan Ayew opened the scoring for Palace just before halftime, capitalizing on a mistake by Seagulls goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.
The first half was largely uneventful, with few scoring opportunities.
Eberechi Eze made a second-half return from injury and had chances to extend Palace's lead, but Brighton dominated the late stages.
The draw marked the fifth consecutive 1-1 result between the rivals at Selhurst Park. Overall, the match featured little excitement in the early stages, with both sides struggling to create clear-cut chances.
Verbruggen's mistake led to Ayew's goal, but Brighton responded in the second half. Welbeck, introduced as a substitute, headed home the equalizer late in the game.
Despite opportunities for both teams, the match ended in a draw, with Palace still searching for a second league victory at home.
