1 min readThe Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has launched a nationwide campaign aimed at educating businesses about the importance of registration and annual compliance.Starting in the North Kaneshie Industrial Area, Graphic Road, and STC enclave in Greater Accra, the initiative seeks to raise awareness among entrepreneurs.

Assistant Chief Companies Inspector, Richard Nana Yeboah, highlighted the lack of awareness regarding business registration and annual returns among many entrepreneurs.He emphasized the importance of business legitimacy and compliance, urging business owners to prominently display their registration certificates.

"Our team has also observed that many business owners who had already registered their businesses failed to display their business registration certificates in their shops."These business certificates are not to be hidden from the public, they should be displayed in your shops for all to see," he said.Yeboah noted that failure to file annual returns could result in missed opportunities, as many contracts require proper documentation.

The ORC has also introduced a new prestige office to expedite the registration process, ensuring businesses can register within a few hours.Established under Section 351 of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), the ORC is responsible for registering and regulating all business entities in Ghana.
