The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) Flagbearer, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has extended his best wishes to all aspirants participating in the upcoming NPP parliamentary primaries.
Dr Bawumia emphasized that undertaking such a venture requires hard work, sacrifice, and determination to serve the people.
The NPP is scheduled to hold elections to select parliamentary candidates for various constituencies, including those with sitting Members of Parliament, on Saturday, January 27.
In his message, the Vice President urged party members to conduct themselves in a manner that aligns with the principles underlying the party's democratic culture, specifically emphasizing the values of freedom, fairness, and peace.
“We are all responsible for ensuring the integrity of our party’s electoral system and ensuring compliance with the decisions of the delegates of our party,” he said.
Furthermore, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia advised party members to transcend personal interests and minor disagreements.
The Vice President underscored the need for a united front emerging from the primaries, with the ultimate goal of securing victory for the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 elections.
“The election of December 2024 is crucial for our party and nation,” adding, “The NPP needs to come out of this process strengthened, united, and ready to deliver victory in 2024.”
He further congratulated all Members of Parliament who are running unopposed in their constituencies.
“The party and their constituents have expressed confidence in their leadership. I, therefore, entreat them to justify their confidence by working with all stakeholders to deliver their constituencies in the presidential and parliamentary polls,” he said.
