Justice Edward Amoako Asante, the President of the ECOWAS Court of Justice, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Justice of Ghana, Her Ladyship Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo. During the visit, Justice Asante congratulated Ghana’s Chief Justice on her recent appointment and discussed matters of mutual interest between the ECOWAS Court and Ghana’s judiciary.

The two judicial leaders expressed their commitment to collaborative efforts to strengthen the rule of law and protect human rights in the subregion. Discussions also touched on the domestication of regional human rights instruments and the need for legal integration in the subregion. The meeting ended with an exchange of paraphernalia between the ECOWAS Court and the Ghana Judicial Service.
