Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer stole the show with an outstanding performance, netting four goals as his team dismantled Everton at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League.
Palmer kicked off the scoring spree in the 13th minute with a sublime finish into the bottom corner after a clever exchange with teammate Nicolas Jackson, leaving Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite in his wake.
Just five minutes later, Palmer doubled Chelsea's advantage, nodding in a rebound following Jackson's shot saved by Everton keeper Jordan Pickford.
The 21-year-old completed his hat-trick in spectacular fashion midway through the first half, intercepting a wayward pass from Pickford and lobbing the goalkeeper from 40 yards out.
Before halftime, Jackson piled on the misery for Everton by volleying home Marc Cucurella's cross, further solidifying Chelsea's dominance.
Palmer then added to his tally from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute, securing his fourth goal of the match.
In the dying moments, Chelsea's substitute Alfie Gilchrist added a sixth goal, scoring his debut goal for the club from a tight angle.
With this victory, Chelsea extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to eight matches and closed in on seventh-placed Manchester United, who occupy the last European qualification spot.
Meanwhile, Everton, playing their first match since a two-point deduction for breaching Premier League financial rules, remain in 16th place, just two points above the relegation zone.
