In a bid to quell the uproar that emerged after it was revealed that she had lost millions of dollars and cedis in her home, Sanitation Minister Cecilia Abena Dapaah released a statement to address the matter.
The statement dated July 21 does not explicitly confirm whether Mrs Dapaah had stashed huge sums of money in her home.
Rather, Mrs Dapaah makes mention of some "noticeable inconsistencies" with regards to the story being discussed in the public domain and the "thrust of the original complaint on the matter."
According to Mrs Cecilia Abena Dapaah, she is taking steps to examine and identify the origins of the inconsistencies.
But a careful perusal of the statement shows an inconsistency committed by the minister herself.
Her name is spelt differently in the release. In the letterhead, she spells her name as "Cecelia Abena Dapaah" but in the title of the letter and the subscription, the minister's name is spelt as "Cecilia Abena Dapaah."
