Prominent media personality, Bridget Otoo, has criticized GTV broadcasters, referring to them as "sign language interpreters," in what appears to be a jab at their professionalism.
This comment comes amidst speculation of a jab directed at media personality, Nana Aba Anamoah, after allegations made by one businessman Henry Fitz who is said to have had an extramarital affair with a friend of hers, Serwaa Amihere.
The controversy began after GTV Ghana, on April 13, decided to celebrate one of its female journalists, Akushika Acquaye, who joined GBC in 1995 and through hard work, rose through the ranks to become the Acting Director of Television.
In the post, the state media company wrote "She's a true definition of a 'Woman of Valour' in competence and in character, worth emulating by all young journalists and other young women."

Reacting to this, an X user @enyonvm expressed concern. He asserted that the post was to indirectly attack another journalist.

Although the X user did not indicate the exact journalist he believed was being attacked, some other users believe the post was targeted at Nana Aba Anamoah.
They noted that the use of "Woman of Valour" could not be coincidental since ‘Women of Valour’ is a programme Nana Aba Anomoah holds to inspire hundreds of women.

Bridget Otoo waded into the conversation, sharing a similar view as that of the aforementioned X user. According to her, it appears that GTV presenters "taking shots at other presenters" stem from personal problems with them.
She later noted that it is not other journalists' fault that "you (GTV presenters) act and look like sign language interpreters."

An X user chastised Bridget for her comment. @Setho noted that "GTV presenters live within their means hence they act and look like sign language interpreters."

Later, Bridget provided an 'insincere' apology while stressing that it is not worth it to be a sign language presenter as "you are not memorable cos majority of the people watching news are watching the main anchor."

Following Henry Fitz's allegations against Nana Aba, such as trying to link him and Sandra Ankobea for a fridge, several users on Twitter have questioned the morals of Nana Aba and her source of wealth.
